Rare Pedilanthus bracteatus (Slipper plant) offer is for one 15″ plant that will bloom this year several times. Mature plants can grow to around 6 feet tall (to 9 feet in habitat). This plant is a large succulent and falls under the category of “Spurges” Our plants have no pesticides applied and ship within 24 hours. This upright succulent branches from the base and has narrow cylindrical green stems with ovate leaves. Deer tolerant and prefers dry soil. All vegetative parts of the plant are often sparsely hairy. In Tempetures above 75F plant begin to bloom late spring and summer through fall appear the curiously shaped red cyathia (flower structures containing separate male and female parts) that are enclosed in rounded reddish-pink bracts near the branch tips.) In a well-drained soil and water sparingly to not at all. This plant has been hardy for us to down to at least 25° F. USDA Zones 8-12. Grow as an annual and still enjoy blooms until frost.
